Ingredients

• 30 ml Gin
• 30 ml Campari
• 30 ml Sweet (rosso) vermouth
• 1 piece strip of orange peel
• Ice

Method

1. Fill a mixing glass (or a jug) with ice and pour in the gin, Campari and vermouth.
2. Stir steadily for about 20 seconds so the drink chills and softens with a little melted ice.
3. Strain into a rocks glass over one large ice cube or fresh ice.
4. Squeeze the orange peel over the glass, skin side down, to spray its oils, then drop it in.

Tips

• Too strong? Make an Americano instead: Campari and vermouth topped with soda water, no gin.
• Keep opened vermouth in the fridge; it is wine-based and goes stale in a few weeks.
