Ingredients

Method

  1. Rinse the millet in a sieve under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Bring the water to a boil in a heavy pot, stir in the millet and return to the boil.
  3. Turn the heat down to a gentle simmer and cook, partly covered, for 30 min, stirring now and then so it does not stick, until the grains have burst and the porridge is thick and silky. Add a splash of hot water if it gets too thick.
  4. Stir in the goji berries for the last 5 min if using. Serve plain with pickles and eggs for a savoury breakfast, or sweeten with a little sugar.
