Ingredients

Method

  1. Warm two cups with hot water and tip it out. Put the kopi powder in a coffee sock (or a cafetière) set in a jug.
  2. Pour over the just-boiled water and leave to brew for 3–4 min, then lift the sock up and down a few times and squeeze gently to get a thick, strong brew.
  3. Put 2 tbsp condensed milk in each cup, pour in the hot coffee and stir until creamy and caramel brown.
  4. Add a splash of evaporated milk for kopi C, or skip the milk and sweeten with sugar for kopi O. Serve with kaya toast.
