Ingredients

50 ml White rum
30 ml fresh grapefruit juice
20 ml fresh lime juice, plus a wheel
15 ml Maraschino cherry liqueur (e.g. Luxardo)
Ice

Method

Chill a coupe in the freezer.
Pour the rum, grapefruit juice, lime juice and maraschino liqueur into a shaker.
Fill with ice and shake hard for about 15 seconds.
Double-strain into the cold glass and garnish with a lime wheel.

Tips

It is deliberately tart; add 5–10 ml simple syrup if you prefer it sweeter.
Grapefruit interacts with some medicines (including certain statins and blood-pressure drugs), and rum is strong: check your meds and enjoy just one.
