Ingredients

Method

  1. Put a martini glass or coupe in the freezer for a few minutes; a martini is only as good as it is cold.
  2. Fill a mixing glass or jug with ice, pour in the vermouth and gin, and stir smoothly for about 30 seconds, until the outside of the glass feels frosty.
  3. Strain into the chilled glass, leaving the ice behind.
  4. Squeeze the lemon peel over the surface to spritz its oils, then drop it in, or skip the peel and spear an olive instead.
